The Madrid Review is an international literary magazine published in English and based in Madrid. Our mission is to connect the Anglophone and Spanish-speaking literary worlds by introducing exceptional writers, ideas, and conversations across cultural and linguistic boundaries.
Situated at the crossroads of Europe and Latin America, we use Madrid not as our subject but as our vantage point. We champion outstanding writers from Spain and Latin America for English-language readers while bringing leading voices from Britain, Ireland, and the United States into dialogue with Spanish-speaking literary culture.
We publish ambitious fiction, poetry, essays, criticism, and literary journalism for readers who seek more than cultural commentary or market-driven trends. We believe literary magazines should be places of discovery, conviction, and serious engagement with literature.
Our editorial focus is on identifying remarkable writers before they become widely known, fostering meaningful exchange between literary traditions, and creating a space where readers and writers participate in a genuinely international conversation.
Quality, originality, and intellectual curiosity guide everything we publish.
